In ancient Greece music was an integral part of people’s everyday routine and due to the fact that music was a complicated form of art as well as a cultural expression, it was highly regarded and present in all private and public festivities. According to the ancient Greeks, music was divine as it assisted in healing both soul and body. It purified and soothed people’s souls and it inspired, encouraged and helped them relax. It is clear then that music can have a big role to play when it comes to children’s learning. Not necessarily just in terms of intelligence, but also in term of their physical development and social well-being.
Music study is the main ocupation and goal for our pupils. Our lyceum pretends to become a place where love for God and music feels home. Through the music course students develop their knowledge and potential as musicians, both personally and collaboratively. Our pupils pass BAC exam in Arts (music) profile, that gives the possibility to enter the university or other high institution. The study plans, the discipline components are ruled by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova. Individual study of Choir Chanting, Vocal and the Piano assure development of individual potential through personal methods of study dependin on their capability.
Teaching stuff is recruted choosing only high-quality employees from among the assembled applicants. So, there are notorious personalities in the Arts as well as teacher with superior degree and Masters of Arts among our teachers.
Techincal basis of the lyceum assures totally the high-level educational process. Equally our pupils benefit free living, meal and individual hours, have free acsess at library, pianoes, internet etc.
The Theoretical Arts (Music) Lyceum "Grigore Grigoriu" is situated at «Sts. Martha and Mary» Convent. The language of teaching is Romanian for gymnasium graduate girls. The Lyceum continues the activity of the Regent School which activated at the monastery from 1998 to 2008. Education, accomodation and meals are free. Individual lessons on Vocal, Choir Conducting and Piano are provided. Recruitment of students takes place on an annual basis. The terms, process and conditions of recruitment are subject to the requirements of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova.
Student enrollment
- The language of instruction is Romanian;
- Students are admitted on the basis of a competition of certificates and a musical test;
Reception of documents and verification of music skills are carried out in two stages.

Required documents:
- Application for admission;
- Certificate of Gimnazium Graduation;
- Identity card or birth certificate in original and copy;
- Medical certificate;
- 4 photos 3 × 4 cm;
- A copy of diplomas at olympiads (if they exist).
